Rendang Tok Perak

Rendang Tok is a very dark, dry beef rendang is one of the famous delicacy Perak, Malaysia. It has the most extensive list of ingredients and spices which is believed to be created by royal cooks of the Sultan of Perak.

You must enjoy this rendang and with the floss-like stuff sticking to the beef  because the sensation of "lemak" and the feel of it melt  in your  mouth, leaving behind a taste of the spices,galangal, lemongrass and  "gula melaka" (palm sugar). Perak also has a simpler rendang dish but rendang tok is the most commanded dish during Islamic festivities or marriage receptions.

Unfortunately rendang tok is seldomly prepared in modern home because of the intricacy of preparing the herbs and spices before cooking. More and more younger generation do not know how to cook beef rendang tok. RempahIbu is aware of this situation and introduce a solution for this predicament.
